Meal-Time Prayers

Now available is the two-volume booklet set of meal-time prayers by our director, David Dunham. In a culture of gluttony, eating disorders of various kinds, and overall self-indulgence these two booklets of prayers for meal times help us to think properly, that is Biblically, about the food we eat. Originally adapted from various statements in John Piper's book A Hunger for God, these works turn the mundane and thoughtless act of eating into an act of worship. Church History Audio

"To suppose that the last 2,000 years of church history has nothing to teach us is the epitome of human pride," says David Dunham. In this recently given lecture on church history, David Dunham recounts some of the major highlights, events, and figures from the last 2,000 years of church history. This expanded form of the lecture originally given at Grace Baptist Church in Minford, OH includes:

- The Early Church: Persecutions and Expansion
- The Age of Constantine
- The Middle Ages
- The Protestant Reformation
- The English Reformation
- The Puritan's Pursuit
- The Founding of America
- The Great Awakening
- The 18th and 19th Century
- Present Day Evangelicalism

It contains short biographical sketches of Bishop Polycarp, Arius, Martin Luther, William Tyndale, Henry VIII, Thomas Cranmer, James VI, John Bunyan, Jonathan Edwards, George Whitefield, Charles Finney, D.L. Moody, and R. Albert Mohler Jr.

Learn about the Christian Faith as it has persevered through many trials, as God has preserved it; and likewise, learn about the amazing men and women whom God has used to do His works and to build His church. Get your copy of this audio c.d. today by e-mailing us at

Thoughts on Genesis 1-3

Compiled from the various works of a number of great theologians and Christians authors this little 14 page booklet focuses in on the general themes of the first three chapters of Genesis. These three chapters are among the most foundational chapters in all of the Bible and it is important for all Christians to know the messages and themes in them. The subjects touched on in this booklet include:

1) The Majesty of God
2) The Triunity of God
3) The Immanence of God
4) Creation by Word
5) General Creation
6) Problem Passages [in the Creation Account]
7) The Garden of Genesis 1-2
8) The Creation of Man in Genesis 2
9) The Fall in Genesis 3

With quotes compiled from: J.I. Packer, Robert Letham, Charles C. Ryrie, Christopher Hall, R. Kent Hughes, Graeme Goldsworthy, Wayne Grudem, and A.W. Criswell.

This is a helpful, though concise, introduction into the deep theology and practical, foundational, teachings of the Christian faith and Genesis 1-3 in particular.

Worship and Theology

David Dunham, Director of Sovereign God Ministries, has written an inriguing entry on his weblog about Worship Leaders, Music, and Theology, which was sparked by a blog entry from Bob Kaufflin. The staff of SovGod Min have encouraged Director Dave to write a small booklet on this very subject. He is hesitant due to his schedule but perhaps with some encouragement he would be willing.

If you think this would be a great booklet, and one you'd be interested in reading, give us a comment. Encourage Dave to write it, and be sure to check out the Director's blog and the entry that sparked this discussion.
